Some say that if you listen very carefully, you may hear the shriek of Ferraris or the thunder of fuel dragsters here on the 3/4 mile long main straightaway

Off the steeply banked Monza Wall and down the 3/4 mile roller coaster main straight.  Seconds later you are blasting into the "Little Monza" at 170+ MPH.  Your stomach drops out as you head into that banked downhill corkscrew  turn...

We will never feel the gut churning thrill of racing at Meadowdale Raceway first hand again.  But we can feel relief that this American racing icon will not disappear under a shopping center or subdivision.  The track property has been purchased by the Kane County Forest Preserve District, the Dundee Park District and Dundee Township to preserve as open space.

The former home of Meadowdale International Raceways is now open for hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking and other outdoor recreation.  Two entrances with parking give easy access to the 330 acre site.   Come on out!

A note from Meadowdale International Raceway Preservation Association
organizer Linda Daro:

Will you support another event at Meadowdale this Fall?

We are seeking your help with MIRPA's (Meadowdale International
Raceways Preservation Association) attempt to have an event this year.
We have run into a road block in the form of the Dundee Township
Supervisor Sue Harney.

She has declined us access across the township property to the straight
which is on Forest Preserve property - Forest Preserve is okay with the
event.  We are planning to attend the May 19th Township meeting to
request a formal vote for our request as Sue has not allowed a vote as
of yet.  She feels there is no support for this activity and is saying
that the idnr wll not allow motorized vehicles on their property.  We
contend that drving across access roads is not the same as driving all
over the property and damaging their grass etc.

Is it possible for you to put something on your Meadowdale website
asking for support either in the form of a letter or better yet if
people could attend the meeting may 19th at the township office they
would see just how much interest there is.

I am aware that the Midwestern Council was the actual "host" for the event
last year.  perhaps you could gather some support from them as well.

Thanks
