Ghost racers at a ghost track -
Solid Axle Corvette Club at
Meadowdale International Raceways
June 12, 2007- A trip to Meadowdale was included in the program of the national convention of the Solid Axle Corvette Club. SACC is for devotees of 1953-62 Corvettes, the models before the 1963 Stingrays came out with their independent rear suspensions.
A good selection of solid axle vintages was present and it was great to hear big V8 sounds at the track again. All particpants will be sure to relate that they and their cars have driven on the famous road racing course.
At the track, volunteer track steward Jack Redmer provided rides around the course on a tractor drawn hayrack. A video of 1959 racing at the course was shown and the history of the track was related.
