There is very little material on the Internet about Meadowdale.  That is one of the reasons for this website.  Most of
these links are to casual mentions of MIR in articles on other topics.   Click on the URLs to go to these websites.

Fascinating recounting of the early days of Chicago region SCCA discusses their events at Meadowdale, Road America,
Wilmot and other venues.  IMHO, Chicago region was tight with Road America and seemed to butt heads with MIR more
often than not.  (3 sections mention Meadowdale)

Current Information

"Pastoral Farms Turn into Suburbs", a 1999 Daily Herald story on the development of Carpentersville, with emphasis on the part
Leonard W. Besinger played in it.  (Besinger was the builder of Meadowdale Raceways.)

New website of "Forget-Me-Not Race Pix" by Mike Odell.  Mike supplied the excellent photos of the 1964 USRRC and
the 1968 Trans-Am races.for this website.  He also has photos on the Lynndale Farms website.  Mike has been involved
with sports racing since the early 60's, as a spectator, crew, safety worker, owner/driver, photographer and writer.  He
always used his cameras liberally, building up a large collection of pictures of the racecars, competition, people,
transporters and such.  If you are restoring a vintage sports racer, want photos for a book or article, or just want to
document vintage racing memories, ask Mike about his extensive collection of old and new vintage racing pictures!

Burt "BS" Levy  writes great stories about sports car racing as it really was just before and (hopefully, in his next book)
during the time of Meadowdale Raceway. He's also a long-time buddy and the only student who ever scared me out of a
sports car when I was instructing him at his first racing driver school.  http://www.lastopenroad.com

North Suburban SCC presented many races at Meadowdale in its prime. They still present races at Blackhawk Farms,
Road America, GingerMan, Autobahn Country Club, and other tracks in the midwest.  They also host a free and open-to-the-public series of seminars
about getting started in racing each spring.  http://nsscc.com

Chicago Region SCCA had an on again, off again relationship with Meadowdale.  Members helped with the initial planning and
the region probably contributed a couple of extra years to the track's life by developing the north 1-mile "club course" after
Wilmot Hills closed, but the relationship always seemed to be adversarial, at least to this outsider.

Milwaukee Region SCCA ran many national, divisional and regional races at Meadowdale.  They seemed to get along with the
track better than the local region!   www.scca-milwaukee.org
